Tooth Whitening

The term whitening refers to a bleaching process that’s designed to whiten teeth. There are two main categories:

• Over the counter products: whitening toothpastes or whitening strips that may have a minor effect on your teeth over the period of use, but which quickly tend to fade given they only bleach the surface of the tooth.
• Whitening at the dentist’s: a dental team takes an imprint of your teeth and a custom mould is made. This is coated with a specialized treatment for discoloured teeth that contains a high concentration of peroxide. Unlike OTC products, the treatment permanently transforms the colour of your teeth on the surface and inside, optimally altering the colour of the enamel.
